Outreach

Two “words” that you will hear frequently at Esserville Church are; 1) OTHERS, and 2) BEYOND THESE WALLS. We are committed to getting out there and making a difference. The Gospel is not meant to be encased inside the walls of the sanctuary, but to be enacted in the lives of the people around us. Below are just a few ways that Esserville Church invests itself in OTHERS, and reaches BEYOND THE WALLS of our Church:

Wings-n-Wheels. This a growing ministry of the Church and we are very excited to be involved with the area biker community through rallies and services at the Church, bike ride fellowships, safety training and other outreach activities.

Remote Area Medical (RAM). We partner with the many volunteers of this organization to provide FREE health care, dental care, eye care, veterinary services, and technical and educational assistance to people in our area. The RAM events are held periodically at the Wise County Fairgrounds, and we shall provide dates of upcoming events on our website.

College Days. With two institutions of higher learning in our backyard, The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, and Mountain Empire Community College, we cherish the opportunity to be a part of the lives of the college age adults in our community.

Support our Troops. Thankful to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave, we recognize that our freedom must be defended by the brave men and women of our Armed Forces. We collect and send items needed by our troops, and share letters of encouragement with those on the front lines.

Shoeboxes for Kids. We partner with the effort of Samaritan’s Purse to provide Christmas gifts and essentials to the children of the world who would not otherwise be able to enjoy the Christmas season.

Angel Tree. Each year, the family members of Esserville Church “adopts” children in our area for Christmas and provides gifts, essentials, and friendship to children and their families that would not be able to have a “merry” Christmas otherwise. Typically, we are blessed to be able to support 50-60 children, and have found that we are the ones who are blessed with the real joy of Christmas when we give in this manner!

Other opportunites for us to impact OTHERS and reach BEYOND THE WALLS present themselves regularly, and we shall announce these opportunities. We welcome you to become involved in any or all of these outreach opportunities, as we encourage you to Get Out There!
